Yet another plane full of passengers bound for Spain, Majorca in this case, had their flight and travel arrangements disrupted by a group coming for a stag party. The easyJet flight from Glasgow had to be diverted because of a "disruptive" group of passengers, the airline said. The group were marched off the plane by police after the jet was diverted to Toulouse late on Saturday night. The plane then carried on to Palma, but the delay meant the return flight could not leave on time and passengers had to stay overnight.

"The safety and wellbeing of passengers and crew is always our priority and upon landing the passengers were escorted off the aircraft by police," said the airline. Then why let them on to the plane in the first place?

The group had obviously already made full use of the airport bar or had perhaps even started drinking before they checked in. I was at Cardiff airport flying back to Palma a few years ago - on my flight was a hen party - they were fine (at check in, not by the time we were called for boarding) but the proud bride to be was in tremendous form. Not only did she arrive late, when the limousine did pull up, she just tumbled out on to the pavement and wasted another few minutes rolling around laughing outside the terminal. Didn’t anyone working for the airline or airport spot any warning signs that allowing the hens to throw even more booze down their necks was not a good idea?
