The National Police have broken up one of the Nigerian prostitution gangs in the Playa de Palma area. The arrests in Arenal of eleven people - eight for robbery with violence, three for infringements of immigration law - have meant this particular gang has been totally dismantled.

The police have been carrying out investigations for some days, looking to find a woman who had stolen a gold chain worth 4,000 euros from a German tourist. These investigations, and a hunt for others who might have acted with the woman, resulted in the latest police operation against prostitute gangs in Playa de Palma (and also in Magalluf) and the identification of 26 individuals, eleven of whom were arrested.

Various items have been recovered, among them the gold chain and a watch valued at 7,000 euros as well any amount of false documents.
