And another police drugs' operation, this time centred on distribution in Magalluf: the Guardia Civil have arrested four Britons and charged them with offences against public health and of illegal association in the sale of drugs in the resort.

Three members of the gang were taken by surprise while they were in the act of distribution in and around Punta Ballena. The Guardia seized a number of lines of cocaine and 300 euros before then raiding several properties in Magalluf. Among the arrests was the gang's leader, and officers seized a further 70 grams of cocaine, 20 grams of crystal and a number of ecstasy tablets.

The gang's leader is now being held in custody on a court's instruction, and the Guardia are not ruling out there being more arrests.

In a different action, the Guardia Civil in Santa Margalida, supported by the Guardia's helicopter unit, have arrested two people who were engaged in the cultivation of marijuana on a finca in Muro. A raid found 516 plants of different sizes and 45 kilos of the drug.
