Pollensa town hall has taken possession of the Gelats Valls ice-cream kiosk in Puerto Pollensa, which closed at the end of October. It has been inspected by town hall representatives and the police, and the process now starts to remove the kiosk.

Having been in its current location for more than fifty years, the kiosk was forced to close because it no longer has the requisite permission. An eviction order by the town hall was delayed for several months, which could have meant legal proceedings against the mayor, Miquel Ángel March. The order was eventually served in September.

There is some surprise that the kiosk is to be dismantled, as it had been understood there was to be a tender for it in the current location.
