Colin Lawson living in Palma Nova thought Britain should join the euro as if not “we will be left out in the cold. We have to accept it.”
Santa Ponsa resident Deborah Fullwood shared the same opinion and said “we are all members of the European Union and we should all be equal. We must keep up with the times.” She continued by saying that even being English she considers herself “European” and added “staying out of the common market would be rather foolish”.
Robert Lockner in Portals Nous believed Britain should join the euro as “the future has got to be that way” and because “they will be left on their own otherwise”.
Florence Kibbey with a home in Palma Nova did not think Britain should take part in the single currency. She believed that the exchange rate would not have a good effect on the pound and said she “fears the pensions will be affected negatively”.
Cynthia Nolan living in Palma Nova thought along the same lines. “The pound is so strong now and we would lose out if we joined now.”
