Palma was Sixth Fleet´s most favourite Mediterranean port

It was sad to read that “R&R” in Palma has fallen off in recent years. It was always the favourite port in the Mediterranean. Unfortunately Congress has interfered with the Navy by obligating it to dock in Israel, always the least favorite venue of the men and women of the fleet. Unfortunately America is run for Israel as anyone could see this last week. Be assured that the Navy's absence is not the result of any unhappy experiences. It is the result of the meddling of politicians on the behalf of greedy surly merchants in Haifa and Tel Aviv. It is resented by the military personnel. But nobody in Washington gives a damn about them. I Am glad to be out of it.
