Dear Sir,

I have just returned from a week's holiday on the Costa del Sol and while prices have been hiked up since the advent of the Euro just as they have been here, that is where the differences between the Costa del Sol and Majorca end. Firstly, it was a lot warmer over there, many hotels were open, there were holidaymakers around and, as a result, many bars and restaurants were open. Illegal immigrants and time share touts (or whatever they like to be called these days) have by and large been removed from the streets by the new Mayor, and crime figures are noticeably on the decrease. Maybe that is why it was 4'190'597 passengers who arrived at Malaga airport last year, half a million more than in 2001.
