The area around Westminster must be one of the most heavily guarded and protected in Britain but still a man armed with two knives was able to wreak havoc, killing four people and injuring many more. Security experts will say that it is almost impossible to stop this sort of attack: a "lonewolf terrorist" in a hired car. But questions need to be asked about security in the light of the tragic incident on Wednesday afternoon.

Only problem with calling for UK troops on the street is, we dont have enough. With all the commitments UK forces have at the moment, plus the retention / recruitment problems. It would be difficult to do this. Also. If you secure London. What about the rest of the country ? When the terror groups in Northern Ireland had difficulty placeing devices in London, they moved outside. Guildford, Birmingham, and Manchester for example.
What a ridiculous proposition,the army,thanks to cut after cut,now number some 100.000,as you say but many of them are on deployment and most of the others are fully occupied with military duties besides which,just how far throughout the UK do you think that our much-reduced army would stretch,? One in each town at the most,that will make all the difference. Cuts to the police make the situation even worse as most people would probably prefer to see policemen,not armed soldiers,that could turn others towards acts of terrorism.

I agree your idea and reasoning. But, there is a shortage of Service personnel. Defence cuts etc. are responsible. The Policeman who was stabbed to death, should have at least been " TASER " trained and in possession of a Taser. I feel sure that would have saved his life. The Terrorist, could have been captured, and interrogated. For me, all Terrorists should be tortured and have NO RIGHTS whatsoever. However President Trump is going to destroy THE DAESH ( IS ).
You are right when you state "we are" facing a wave of terrorism but wrong with your assumption about the answer to it. The Islamic terrorist, if I am allowed to call him that, happened to have been born in the UK, so not much good going to Syria to solve the problem. We all know what the real and definite solution is, and will be, but not allowed to express them in public.
