Rather than getting involved in the rather senseless argument over whether Majorca has too many tourists or not, perhaps the local authorities should be more concerned over a more pressing matter: prices in Majorca. This island for many years had the reputation of not being cheap, but I would say that we have now gone a step further: in some cases it is very expensive.

With today's Sterling/Euro tourist exchange rate being at parity once you take into account the usual 10% mark-up at exchange counters, any high prices for Brits will be self regulating. If you can't afford it you certainly don't buy it. The noose is closing round the neck of Mallorca's tourism bonanza.
Surely demand and supply (sic) only works when price controls are inexistent. Or am I missing something ?
Don't just blame businesses, many of which struggle to make a profit during their 12 month year. You can also blame the authorities, both local and national, with their abusive taxes and social charges, difficulty in hiring staff for short periods of time and also the owners of business properties who increase their rents far more than inflation.
