Like many of us I was under the impression that little or nothing would change for us when Britain finally leaves the European Union. I thought that a deal would be quickly signed with the EU which would mean that British citizens living in Spain and Spaniards living in Britain would have the same rights as they enjoy at the moment.

A nightmare? Hardly! Las Ramblas last week was a nightmare.
Britain voted to leave the EU, partly because a great many people wanted to see tighter controls at the borders, it's not really possible to do this without some sort of visa system, so I'm afraid this was more or less inevitable.
Surely, if the UK allows tourists to visit, then the EU should equally reciprocate by allowing Tourists to visit EU countries. Passports can be stamped with entry and exit dates. Those wishing to work and study in the EU, will require the appropriate applicable visa for their country.
