The Guardia Civil are following various lines of enquiry as they hunt for two men who raped a 55-year-old British mother and her 22-year-old daughter at knife-point on some waste ground in Magalluf, early Saturday morning. Sources close to the investigation say that officers have some good leads which they are following-up. The Guardia Civil investigation continued yesterday as the Calvia Local Police mounted their second night of tightened security in the area's black spots. The Local Police, working in close co-operation with the Guardia Civil, have enlisted the services of four more patrol units which will be keeping a close eye on stretches of waste land in and around the popular holiday resort. The two women were forced to get into a car at 3am by two men, just 50 metres away from the hotel in which they had been staying for the previous nine days. The Guardia Civil have combed the stretch of land where the two were raped for clues, and yesterday were still searching for the convertible vehicle the women were forced into.
