“I wouldn't want any woman to go through what I've gone through,” said this 23-year-old English holidaymaker, who was savagely raped with her mother at knife-point by two men as they returned to their hotel in Magalluf at the start of the month. One man has been arrested in connection with the attack after he was spotted by the mother in Magalluf last Saturday. He is on remand in Palma prison while police continue with their enquiries. Yesterday, three weeks after the attack this brave 23-year-old spoke to the Bulletin about her ordeal and the one wish which is giving them courage to get over their ordeal, the desire to see the two men responsible brought to justice. The girl cannot be identified for legal reasons. “We were walking back to our hotel, the Aguamar in Magalluf. It was about 3am. We felt quite secure walking at this time of night. There were plenty of people about and we had walked back to the hotel before at this time. I wouldn't have walked back on my own, but I was with my mother so I thought we were safe. There is a large piece of waste-ground near the hotel. I can't remember when but just before the attack a soft-top car drove by and blew his horn at us. Minutes later we were attacked and raped,” she said. “I would appeal to anyone who saw anything that night (April 1) to come forward. Someone must have seen something. I wish the driver of the car would come forward. He might be able to help police.” She is still visibly affected by the attack.
