The results of a study released yesterday show that 48 percent of the Spanish population like to visit the Balearics. According to the report, 33 percent of the country intends to visit the islands and a further 30 percent hold the Balearics as their favourite destination in Spain. The study was carried out in all of the country's autonomous regions and people were asked three questions: which community or communities, apart from their own, do they intend to visit over the next few months, which would they like to visit, and which communities do they like best. But while 48 percent like the Balearics, 70 percent said that, from a living, working and social point of view, they like Andalucia best. Galicia came second and Valencia third. At the other end of the scale, the Basque Country came last with just eight percent. Galicia topped the table as the community where most people would like to go with Andalucia, Valencia and Asturias coming next.
