Majorca has been invaded by British TV crews giving the island additional star status. Roaming across the island are the six crews of the third series of Passport to the Sun who are filming 40 episodes to be shown on BBC1 from January. Apart from the regular characters this year there has been an influx of new talent. The success of this programme is clearly visible, BBC1 is currently showing repeats of the second series, while BBC Prime is showing the first series. Up in a villa near the scenic village of Estellencs is the crew and contestants of the hit Sky 1 dating game-show The Villa. Usually, they travel to the mainland but this year it is Majorca's turn. And staying with Sky 1, currently a new episode of the Dream Team is being filmed at various locations on the island. Yesterday, they were at the Hotel Valparaiso in Palma, which is acting as the “team hotel.” The team of the fictional Premier League side Harchester United are on the island to play Real Mallorca in the Champions League. Today, (Sunday) they are filming at Son Moix, home of Real Mallorca. And now for some inside information Harchester win the clash 2-0 with two goals in the second half. But the home-leg result...well that would be telling! Dream Team also marks the return to acting of Wellies owner Geoffrey Kenion who has a small part as a football agent. Filming will be taking place in Puerto Portals on Monday and Tuesday. Dream Team has now welcomed new characters but Harchester United chairperson, Lynda Block, (Alison King) is still in the driving seat. And last but by no means least filming finishes yesterday on the Channel 5 show, Nightfever. Part of Magalluf has been turned into a giant TV set.
