Passengers and crew on board a KLM flight from Abidjan to Amsterdam helped a woman give birth to a baby boy yesterday shortly before the aircraft touched down for an unscheduled stop off on Ibiza. The pilot of the Boeing 767 with 212 passengers on board changed course to land on the Balearic island early yesterday morning after the woman went into labour during the flight. She was rushed with her newborn son to a local hospital, KLM said. “During the landing the boy was born. The woman was assisted by crew members and two passengers. The last news we had is that the mother and baby are okay,” a KLM spokesman said.
