Ipsvich Town's Nigerian winger Finidi George returned to the island yesterday to tie up some loose ends and to wish his former Real Mallorca team mates luck in their Champions League clash with Arsenal. Finidi, who scored twice on his Portman Road debut for Ipswich, moved from Malorca to the Premier League club last month for a fee of £3.5 million. Asked how things were going in Suffolk, the Nigerian international said it was good enough but that he missed his Mallorca team mates. Finidi, who won the Champions League with Ajax, urged the club to make the most of their European adventure. Playing in the Champions League is something very special for Mallorca and a great opportunity for them to show their worth to Europe. However they have been drawn in a very strong group, but I hope they can qualify into the next stage, he said. Finidi's speed down the wing and his ability to use both feet - an unusual trait in the Premier League -- has led Ipswich boss George Burley to liken him to the legendary Stanley Matthews.
