Thomson holidays are poised to present their charity fundraising money to Dr Enrique Benito from the Hospice for Palliative Care in Pont D'inca. Over 185'000 pesetas has been raised through the office's Charity Week, the brainchild of legal claims executive Christine Lackey. Last year a charity day was held, with all donations going to the Buyers Group; people suffering from Muscular Dystrophy, their families and carers who visit the island. Over 80 sufferers came to Majorca last summer and had a wonderful time relaxing in the sunshine. Christine extended the idea this year into a whole charity week. On Monday we held what I called an International Food Fair, where each of the eighty people in the office brought in a dish of some sort. Everyone paid a minimum donation to eat at lunchtime and there were raffles and sideshows. On Wednesday the conference room at Thompson was turned into a car boot sale at lunchtime and on Friday We had a homebaked cakes and coffee morning.
