It's the last day of the Mallorca Open Beach Volleyball tournament in Santa Ponsa today, and after four days of competition the winners will be decided. The event is part of the FIVB World Tour and features 32 teams of the top beach volleyball players from 17 different countries around the world. After the first three days action sixteen teams were eliminated, while eight teams remained unbeaten. European champions Heyer and Egger of Switzerland had a surprise defeat to the Russian duo of Sayfulin and Kouvitchka, while Paul Laciga and Paulo Emilio were forced to pull out due to injury. Today's action will be the hotly awaited semi-finals and finals. The final will not start before 3.00pm. Admission to the event is free.
