Dear Editor, I was on holiday in Majorca over the New Year and it was a wrench to have to return to the English winter.
Did the Soller train trip from Palma and had a lovely walk out of Soller to Binairix.
I have to say, however, that Port Soller looked somewhat the worse for wear. The foreshore/beach was strewn with debris and rubbish. The promenade along where you start the walk up to the lighthouse looked like it had not been cleaned for some time.

I know that in the summer Port Soller is kept really clean.
But there were plenty of visitors about even though it was late December and the municipal authorities ought not to be complacent.
The general impression left by a dishevelled Port Soller did not encourage a return trip and that is a pity.
