Dear friends,

Mallorca continues to bask under clear and sunny skies, and Friday will be no exception. A yellow heat alert has been issued for the south of the island, with temperatures expected to reach 36°C between 1pm and 7pm. This alert extends into Saturday, with the south and interior regions forecasted to hit 37°C.

As we've been reporting over the past few days, the heatwave is set to intensify next week. Weather stations in Binissalem and Sa Pobla are predicting temperatures could soar up to 40°C by Wednesday.

Below, you'll find a series of news stories that we believe you'll find engaging, along with insightful comment pieces by our Managing Editor Jason Moore, Deputy Editor Humphrey Carter, and guest viewpoint by Peter Clover.

Stay informed, stay cool!
