Dear friends,

As we head into Friday, sunshine is expected island-wide, though highs will dip slightly to around 16–17°C. The yellow alert for wind is set to expire at 4 a.m., but coastal alerts remain: until 10 a.m. in the south, noon in the Tramuntana, and 6 p.m. in the north/northeast. Coastal areas should brace for waves of three to four meters and gusts up to 60 km/h.

The weekend weather looks promising, but rain is forecast for Monday across the island. Better news for Christmas Eve, which is expected to be dry, and Christmas Day, which will be generally sunny, though temperatures will stay cool—ranging from 10°C in the mountains to 15°C along the coast.

In other news, the Spanish Government has announced that public transport in the Balearics will remain free for at least the first six months of 2025, with official approval anticipated at the cabinet meeting on Christmas Eve.

Wishing you a safe and sunny start to the weekend, and most of all a very Merry Christmas!!
