We have just returned from a week in Palmanova. The place, the people and the weather were fantastic. What was not fantastic was the airport and in particular the border control. What an horrendous, chaotic experience myself and my 3 year old daughter have just endured. Literally hundreds of families funnelled into passport control where there was 4 men doing manual passport checks for hundreds if not over a thousand people. It was a disgrace. I will never return to Palma airport it was shambolic

We are due to arrive in Mallorca near the end off the month, been coming here for fifteen years, love the place. Have made some really good friends here who in turn have come over to the Uk to stay with us. However as much we will miss it we have decided this will be our last ever visit. What with us leaving the EU and other issues to do with it all enough is enough. As for the remark of having just two yes two people stamping passports HELLO? Again crime here seems to have really taken off which was a thing we never even thought about previously, having been robbed on our last visit now its yet another issue. Yet the people who commit it seem to carry on time after time with out any proper form of punishment why its like that I don't know. We will look back and will always remeber the fantastic times we had here and the fantastic people we meet and made friends with, and hope that our last visit will be as good as our previous ones Cliff

Funny, people arriving or departing aren't indicating any delays or other troubles. The only place I've read or heard that is in the MDB. And (most of) the island clearly is swarming with tourists. Everything open and busy. (?)

Stan The ManAll with EU passports are not subjected to this control, so why do you think they kill the tourist trade?

Stan I agree its a disgrace but if I had a euro for every time I have read about tourist suicide, how they will all go somewhere else, killing the golden goose etc etc then I would be a rich man. Since I arrived here in the 70's I have always maintained this place is only going one way and that is up. The reason - location, location, location. The clients may change, less hooligans more superyachts, but up it will go.

Well on Thursday it took 20 mins to clear security, at 1355, with Easyjet back to Luton. Unlike your (MDB) recent notifications we are back to a half built Terminal A, which after a clear, quict, passport check and stamp, reminded me of the Costa Brava in 1955, when as a kid with my parents arrived and the hotel that was not built, it was a beach bar, and we were put up in a local hostel. Yes Stan, you could be right, the SE of the island is desolate, even over Easter, bars closing as no business, no staff for restaurants because wages do not match rents. A pity, and the Mallorquin method of put the price up I do not think will work this time.
