lo que les molesta es no poder recaudar también de estos alojamientos para después poder despilfarrar el dinero

tranq tranquerOr simply charge on arrival for the number of days until the return ticket date. If no return is given, charge for the full 90 days and you can claim the difference back when you leave. NOT😡!

Interesting fact - owners of legal, ETV rental properties pay the tourist tax based on the government/council calculation for their property. They then claim this payment back from tourists, at the legal rate. So if illegal holiday rentals are not paying the tourist tax, it’s actually the legal rentals that end up footing the bill. Less guests, higher bills. That’s before the legal let’s pay their standard national tax, which of course illegal lets don’t pay. Since Mallorca has a strict ETV licensing system in place for tourist rentals - it would be incredibly easy to spot the illegal properties. Errr spoiler alert - just check the ETV number on the Airbnb (or other listing). It’s not rocket science. They just need to enforce existing and very strict legislation. As for hotels and the new wave of boutique hotels - they have a strangle hold over government. The greedy CEO’s are regularly quoted, attend policy meetings and then complain about the tiny (in comparison) and highly regulated legal holiday lets.
