Will the passport control officers, particularly in Menorca, be allowed to be personable and smile again after this is introduced?
James TWho should be put on a plane to Rwanda?🤔
They should be put on a plane to Rwanda.
Richard PearsonSo, you've never tried any of those things? Or just one of those who didn't have the means to move abroad in the first place? Or both? Many others did though. Like me. I even run a business. Like others do. Oh, by the way, there's lots of jobs available. But they'd either require skills or be beneath you. And speaking more than one language. And legal residence. But you did it the easy way ...just got off the plane, rented a room, and now it's like Blighty in the sun? For free, right?
There is nothing *new* about the regulations at all. What is new is the eradication of passport stamping, while the new EES gates will automatically detect and flag up overstayers. However, Germany, France and The Netherlands notified Brussels only two weeks ago that they aren't ready, so implementation will no doubt be deferred, again...
Morgan Williams“There's a thing known as residency. Even Brits can get it” a) if they can afford it and not looking for a job b) if they can, and not looking for a job, then only if their accountants think it is financially advisable c) if it is, there are far better places than Spain to reduce your tax bill, especially if you are looking for a job. And lastly d) don’t even dream of starting a business. It will ruin you and then it’s back to option a
New technology in terminal A , had many people overstay their visits yesterday. Missing flights. Many stuck for 30mins because the passport readers didn’t read some passports, then all the gates went off with maintenance flags . The staff had no idea what to do . The gates all then turned green and opened. Hope the new technology works better for next year’s introduction.

I for one will not make a booking until may be next year to get ferry crossings from south of France to Mallorca. I then plan a drive down to Mallorca and enter the Schengen Zone in Folkestone Kent and use the Channel Tunnel, as I did this year. I love flying, but the drive through France for me personally was a real nice part of the holiday. I know the long drive may not be for many people, as they just want to get to Mallorca in 2 to 3 hours. Being a widower for 9 years now, I also bring my small dog along with me, which is a holiday for both of us. My dog is my family now, and we go everywhere together, including Mallorca. This year, it took me 4 days, but next year, I plan 7 days in France then a say week or 10 day break in Mallorca, then 3 days back in France
Richard PearsonAccording to D. I assume that applies to the UK after Labour won.
