Dawn you have chosen to live on an island that relies on tourism for its income, presumably you chose to live on the island for the very same reasons the tourists choose it for their holidays. How can you therefore complain about the noise generated by touristic activities. I suggest you move to a quieter area or put up with the noise.

It seems that as Mallorca is going down the we hate tourists route it must be said that once they realise that they can't do without them the people who have chosen not to go there because of this won't come back as they will have found somewhere that likes them and is cheaper. Goodbye good times for the mallorcan people.

Since the new regime seems to be tackling everything from binge drinking to vandalism, how about cutting down on the god awful noise pollution that they allow to be played every night. This comes from every bar, hotel and restaurant and is played so loud that the residents cannot sit inside and watch television. Its obvious that no one on the Council have ever been to places where a quiet drink under the night stars is a memorable occasion for many tourists. Not many of us enjoy screeching music blasting out each night until 11 pm.

After my latest holiday in Majorca in September, I will spend my money where it is appreciated from now on. In Scotland we make our visitors welcome, they create jobs and help grow our economy. None of this tourismphobia, time for these people to grow up, clearly they have too much time on their hands. Adios

After 26years of wonderful family holidays and over the past 10 years the change in Mallorca I sold our apartment st a loss just to get out of the diabolical holiday property system. Mallorca is starting to lose out and tourists will travel elsewhere! Sad as Mallorca is a wonderful diverse island with plenty of history, beautiful buildings and of course beautiful beaches with fab restaurants-tourists are getting "Pissed" off being accused of everything then not to forget Tourist Tax which Madrid was supposed to be investigating as it's against EU law? My Mallorca holidays might only be once a year now and maybe stop after 2019

There are many cheating, scummy low life "Business people", on the island who think nothing of stealing money from British tourists or those who invest in their own business. For this reason I will be glad to see less money spent on the island and to those who abuse its position.

Thanks jdw22.my son is looking to buy on the island and it would be for family holidays, big family, but have passed your comments on and he says not worth spending money on legal advice, will look elsewhere where they appreciate people spending money and creating employment

After 10 straight years of holidays in Mallorca add me to the count of many that are now saying this is a step too far. I was half way through the purchase of an apartment for myself and my family to use. Only to be told today by my lawyer that nothing is clear and there's no guarantee that we won't be 'denounced' and fined even in the case of family who will be viewed as 'touristic' and impossible to prove otherwise. Too much sorry! That's already several thousand Euro a year and a nice hefty sum of property purchase tax that Spain will now not see. I foresee a property price crash in the Balearics!
