Levante, romping away with the second division title, visiting Mallorca desperately wishing they were not chomping at the bit of relegation. What could possibly go right for Mallorca, therefore?
An early substitution for Levante because of injury did little to inspire Mallorca. Jason scored six minutes later for the visitors. The same Jason hit the bar for Levante midway through the half. Brandon went close on the half hour. Otherwise, Levante were in charge, and Roger might well have made it two just before the break.
Mallorca rallied in the second half, Moutinho's efforts finally being rewarded with Ansotegi's 70th minute headed equaliser. By then Levante were down to ten men; Rober had been sent on his way for a second yellow. Moutinho, having set the centre back up for the goal, almost managed a repeat ten minutes later; Ansotegi headed just past the post. It was Moutinho who supplied the centre for Raíllo to head high and wide in added time, as Mallorca sought a winner. It wasn't to be.
A good point for Mallorca, but relegation still very much haunts them.

Does anyone know if Bryce's match reports are being published in the newspaper? I haven't seen them online and wasn't sure if they'd stopped altogether. Also where is the best bar in town to watch the Mallorca away games? Would prefer not to drive to the Mallorcafe so looking for something a bit more central.
Agree with Joel Dowland, overall Moutinho was useless,likes to look good with free kicks and crosses but rest of his game shows poor judgement and an apparent lack of effort - unlike Lago Junior who always shows 100%, and yes was unbelievable he was substituted. And what has happened to Brandon, always runs into trouble, seems afraid to shoot....however overall Mallorca had better of the game and should have at least converted one of the many chances they created. IF they can recreate that performance AND find the net they may just escape the drop.
I couldn't believe Lago was replaced as well, he's by far our most creative player. He could have been the difference on Saturday night
Unfortunately with those around us winning or drawing, this was 2 points lost. We could be rock bottom by the end of today. Utter shambles from the boardroom to the scarf sellers.
Having a laugh, Moutinho was the worst player on the pitch. Manager made a grave error replacing Lago Junior just after Levante went a man down. Should have taken Moutinho off and put Lekic on. Great chance of 3 points missed. Players look resigned to relegation even though they play some good football. Oh how I wish we had a young Etoo or Pandiani in that team.
