Monro has lived in Mallorca for 40 years, and supported the local football team RCD Mallorca for almost as long. Born in Scotland, in Kirkcaldy, Fife, home to the mighty Raith Rovers, football has been a major part of his life for as long as he can remember. He once interviewed George Best in Mallorca for the Bulletin and has appeared on Sky Sports and Eurosport. His hobbies include cookery and gardening, and he was a founder member of the Calvia Quiz League, sadly no longer in operation post pandemic. His favourite foods include Tandoori Chicken and Oxtail, and his favourite TV show is The Walking Dead.

Leader of the defence signs on

Thirty-year-old Argentinian centre half Lucas Aveldaño put pen to paper on Wednesday evening at Son Moix when he signed for Real Mallorca on a season-long loan with a view to a more permanent deal next year.

Mallorca 2015/16 - More signings to come

After a weekend when I overheard the following being asked in a local eatery – Customer “Is your tuna fish in the salad line caught or net caught ?” Back came the reply “When I get it, madam, its in a tin !” – Real Mallorca returned to the island on Saturday night after an unbeaten three-game, pre-season tour in Germany.

New centre half flying in this week

After a week when a young blonde female contestant on “Couples Come Dine with Me” last Thursday was making Beef Wellington – which was, she claimed, named after the grand old Duke who marched 10,000 men to the top of the hill then marched them down again !! – Real Mallorca are expected to tie up a deal to bring the 6 ft 2 in.
