It has often been suggested that had it not been for Mike Oldfield's 'Tubular Bells', Richard Branson would never have had his subsequent business success.

On May 25, 1973, it was the first album to be released by Virgin Records and it was to prove to be absolutely huge.

On their website, Opus One describe themselves as a musical initiative that arose in Catalonia. Opus One, by the way, was what Oldfield had originally thought would be the title of what became 'Tubular Bells'. Their latest initiative is an interpretation of this classic of contemporary music.

In addition, there are other works by Mike Oldfield from albums like 'Five Miles Out' and 'Islands', for which Opus One are joined by singers who worked with Oldfield - Anita Hegerland and Barry Palmer.

Mike Oldfield, Opus One note, is not personally involved with this project and will not be participating. This concert has been rescheduled twice. It was originally due to have been on August 19 last year and then on December 2.
