The 23-year-old male driver who caused a fatal accident on Friday night has been arrested having tested positive for cocaine and marijuana.
At around eleven o'clock on the motorway near to the Can Pastilla exit, the Ford Mondeo being driven by the 23-year-old hit a Peugeot 206 from behind. An 84-year-old woman was killed and the two other occupants of the Peugeot were taken to Son Espases Hospital.
A breathalyser proved negative but a test for drugs was positive. The Mondeo is said to have been travelling at high speed, and the driver - who was unharmed in the crash - explained that he had looked down to change the car radio setting.
