The German Minister of the Interior, Nancy Faeser, has come under fire today for enjoying a holiday at a luxury hotel on Mallorca just days after she said Hamas supporters should be deported from the country where possible, and authorities would keep a close eye on potential threats following the Palestinian militant group’s attack on Israel.

And while Germany is immersed in a moment of social unrest, due to the veto of pro-Palestinian protests and the fear of the rise of anti-Semitism and terrorist attacks.

Faeser of the Social Democratic Party of Germany (SPD) has been spotted with her family at the luxurious Steigenberger Hotel in Camp de Mar (Andratx), according to Bild newspaper.

When asked by Mallorca Magazine, the Mallorca Bulletin weekly sister paper, whether the minister is in Mallorca, a spokeswoman for the press service of the Federal Ministry of the Interior replied that she could not say.

Exactly! Holidays in a 5-star hotel in Majorca #Faeser,“ are some of the criticisms on social media.

At the same time members of Germany's large Palestinian community have said their voices are being silenced by demonstration bans.
Faeser appealed to citizens to alert authorities of any “propaganda” supporting Hamas.

On Friday, prosecutors in Munich searched the house of a 38-year-old German national over an Instagram post defending Hamas's attack, according to a statement from the prosecutor.

“We will not allow this vile hatred and horrific violence to spread,“ Faeser told reporters.
She is the main candidate of the German Social Democratic Party, but lost the election in her home state of Hesse on 8 October. She received only 15.1 percent of the vote, 4.7 percent less than her party achieved four years ago.

In recent decades, Hesse was one of the SPD’s most important home states in Germany. Faeser has been repeatedly criticised for her stance on refugee policy. She was and still is accused of being too tolerant towards the mass illegal entry of migrants.
