Circaire is a festival of mostly street circus in Alcudia that over its eight previous editions has proved to be hugely popular and highly entertaining.
It is “theatrical” performance that doesn’t require knowledge of language and so is therefore accessible to everyone. The accessibility is enhanced by the fact that the majority of the shows are free. This is all about contemporary circus. It highlights the great creativity and innovation that nowadays define circus, and one of the performers this year is described as the world’s greatest juggler.
Wes Peden is American (from Rochester, New York) and now lives in Sweden. The director of the festival Tià Jordà, says that they’ve been trying to book him for three years; finally they have succeeded. His show ‘Rollercoaster’ is one of the performances that has to be paid for. As well as Alcudia, there are three performances in Puerto Alcudia; these are on Sunday.
