The Ballet Company formed by war

The International Ballet Company was formed by soloists Cristina and Alexei Terentiev from Moldova.

This was when a tour of Spain by the Ballet de Moscú, Moscow Ballet RFB, was called off in early March last year. There was some difficulty in putting the company together as some Ukrainian members had swapped the ballet stage for a theatre of war.

The mix of nationalities still includes Ukrainian dancers, and the company is to make a return visit to Mallorca, having stepped in to perform the traditional New Year ballets. Their spring tour features Giselle, the French ballet with music by Adolphe Adam that was first performed in Paris in 1841 and is considered to be a masterwork in the classical ballet canon.
