Work by Flad. | MDB Digital
Natalia Bento’s space, located in Alaro (Carrer Petit, 6), will welcome this coming Friday, March 21, the first artistic collaboration between Basque artist Patrik Grijalvo and German artist Wolfgang Flad. Together, they unite their creative impulses in the exhibition Nowhere but here.
The show explores the boundaries of space, movement, and perception through evocative works by both artists. It’s a proposal designed to invite viewers to reflect on the relationship between presence and absence, the material and the immaterial. Grijalvo and Flad have never met and haven’t worked together before. The collaboration stems from Bento’s intuition, as she has worked with each artist separately and extended the invitation for them to engage in a dialogue through their respective expressive languages. Despite their different approaches, both share a common exploration of abstraction and geometry as ways to express human experience and interaction with the environment.

Grijalvo lives and works in Bilbao. He holds a degree in Fine Arts from the University of the Basque Country (UPV), where he specialized in audiovisual imagery and photography. Represented by Víctor Lope Gallery, he has participated in fairs such as Volta, Kunst Rai Art Amsterdam, Art Karlsruhe, and the London Art Fair. His work is based on the exploration of space through geometry and the abstraction of forms.
Wolfgang Flad, born in Reutlingen, Germany, in 1974, makes his Mallorca debut with this exhibition. He is an internationally renowned artist known for his sculptures and spatial works that explore the relationship between form, space, and light.
A constant curiosity toward transformation, movement, and the interaction of forms with their surroundings characterizes his artistic approach, which he expresses through a wide range of materials such as steel, resin, and other industrial compounds.
The exhibition will open this Friday, March 21, starting at 7pm, and can be visited until April 26. Admission is free. After the opening, the exhibition can be visited from 5pm to 9pm (Wednesday to Friday) and on Saturdays from 11am to 2pm.
