Crafts and the promotion of local products are the focus of Firabona in Palmanyola. | Pilar Pellicer
Palmanyola, Mallorca’s one and only ‘minor local entity’, has the distinction of being one of the first movers in holding a spring fair - or almost spring, in astrological terms, that is.
The Fira Bona (Good Fair) had the misfortune in 2024 of being less than good because of the weather; it had to be postponed for a fortnight. So they’ll be hoping that the weather gods look favourably on this year’s fair, the goodness having in recent years been added to by a Fira Cavall (Horse Fair).
Held on Saturday and Sunday, a demons correfoc is a highlight of Saturday, while the horses come into their own on Sunday. There is a horse exhibition and there is also a series of horse shows to display skills.
