Inca calls its third fair the Epoch Fair.

This may raise a question as to which epoch, but there is little mistaking the fact that the epoch refers to mediaeval times, which do cover an awfully long epoch - roughly one thousand years, depending on the definition.

So synonymous has the third fair come to be with this epoch that many people call it the mediaeval market rather than third fair. It is the main focus of the three days, and Inca has been known to come up with specific publicity which reinforces this - the image of a knight in full armour, that sort of thing.

Having a mediaeval market is in a way an acknowledgement of the antiquity of the Inca fairs. They date back to the Late Middle Ages, although there is no certainty as to when they actually started. But that’s for historians to debate, while everyone else goes along for one of autumn’s top events in Mallorca.
