The Raïm Wine Fest, an itinerant promotion for the Vi de Terra PGI (Protected Geographical Indication), has proved to be a huge success.
The ninth was in Palma’s Parc de la Mar last month; thousands of people turned up.
The scale of these events varies according to the location. Parc de la Mar was able to accommodate 40 bodegas.
This won’t be the case for the tenth in Costitx - there will be 12 bodegas - but this doesn’t detract from an ethos typical of all these ‘fests’. They are genuine events, with live music, food trucks, children’s activities, and in Costitx there will be a Christmas theme as well. The success lies with making wine promotions appealing to a broader public than one that might attend a more regular wine-tasting. Full marks to the organisers.
