Fira B is the professional market for music and the performing arts in the Balearics.
This market entails workshops and conferences that are for the professionals. Its public face is an array of performances which this year have been split between theatre, dance and circus (the first part) and music, which is the second part in early November.
The final day of the first part is October 12, which is a public holiday. Accordingly, there are certain performances that are family-oriented, none more potentially charming than Alek & Sophie.
The names refer to two women who were important in the 20th century abstract movement, Aleksandra Ekster and Sophie Taeuber, and it is specially for children. Set in a Martian and fantastic universe, it involves interaction with beings from another planet and promises a “friendly and fun space, a magical world full of transformation and content”, supported by dance and technology.
Alek and Sophie is at 12.30pm on Thursday in the Aljub gallery at Es Baluard.
