A memorial to British composer John Barry is now in its fourteenth edition.

Barry had his connections with Mallorca. Had it not been for some dodgy practice, they may well have been much stronger than they turned out to be. He never lived in his California-style mansion in Santa Margalida, he having been defrauded by an individual he put in charge of the building. Only now, and under new ownership, is the mansion being completed.

The memorials honour his film soundtracks. The latest is for the 1975 film 'The Day of the Locust', the satire about 1930s Hollywood and one with some harrowing sequences. Donald Sutherland's character was called Homer Simpson. The film, in English with subtitles, is being shown free of charge.
