Not every city can boast one of the most iconic buildings in the World.
In Palma, who could fail to be impressed by our stunning Cathedral? Here, pictured, is the famous Bilbao Guggenheim Museum which inspires visitors from all over the World and is credited with revitalising the economic and cultural strength of the city. Such is the strength of innovative architecture.
The philanthropist and art collector Solomon R.Guggenheim established groundbreaking museums across the globe: together with Bilbao, there is The New York Guggenheim and The Peggy Guggenheim Collection in Venice, with another Guggenheim museum currently under construction in Abu Dhabi.
On Tuesday 4th March at 7.30pm, The Arts Society Mallorca hosts Guggenheim expert Andrew Hopkins who will give a talk about this fascinating family, the art they collected and the extraordinary museums they gave us. This takes place at the art-filled Artmadams Hotel where the award-winning owners have also put a building and its art collections on the map. Here, in Palma’s very own iconic building, there are frequent events and art exhibitions open to the public. A visit and lunch there is highly recommended!
The talk is followed by a Drinks and Tapas Reception, included in the price - a great opportunity to meet other Arts enthusiasts and find out more about the vibrant Arts Society Mallorca.
Priority booking for the Talks is given to Arts Society members but limited tickets may be available at €20 ‘on the door’. If attending as a guest you must register first with you full name at mallorca@theartssociety.org
