100 years of cinema and greats of film music comes to Palma

The Royal Film Concert Orchestra comes under the umbrella of Spain’s Fundación Excelentia, a foundation for promoting different forms of classical music. It is one of three orchestras.

The orchestra has performed in Palma in the past. But there will be a difference this time - two concerts on the same day. They typically celebrate the works of individual composers, and the second concert will be no different in this respect - the works of Hans Zimmer (‘Gladiator’, for example) and John Williams (‘Star Wars’, ‘Jaws’ and so on).

The first will be a tribute to Ennio Morricone but also to 100 years of cinema. Morricone’s ‘The Good, the Bad, the Ugly’ will start the concert, while there will also be themes from the likes of ‘Casablanca’ and ‘Lawrence of Arabia’.
