The 2024 Pollensa Festival comprises seven concerts, the first of which will be on August 4 and the final one on August 30.
The last concert of the season always promises something special, and on this occasion it will feature the Orchestra of the Valencia Community, the in-house orchestra at Valencia’s Palace of Arts, which has the additional title of Reina Sofia, the Queen Mother, who is a great supporter of classical music and has attended Pollensa concerts in the past.
A highly prestigious orchestra, which benefited from the involvement of Zubin Mehta in its early years, the programme for the festival consists of works by Brahms, Sibelius and Beethoven. Its director since 2021 is American James Gaffigan, recognised as one of the world’s leading conductors.
