Pianist Evgeny Konnov, Russian but born in Uzbekistan, has won more thirty international competitions - as many as his age, 31 - he having started to study piano at the age of four.
From Moscow he moved to Germany and has also studied in Vienna. As a soloist he has performed with the likes of the Madrid Symphony Orchestra and he has become a jury member for the Spanish Composers’ International Piano Competition, which he won in 2017. He followed that up in 2018 by getting first prize at the Maria Canals International Music Competition in Barcelona.
For the latest concert in the Valldemossa Pianino series, he will be performing works by Chopin (naturally enough), Beethoven, Liszt and Rachmaninoff.
