Beethoven's tribute to nature in Inca

Beethoven was hugely influential in the transition from the Classical to the Romantic styles, and his Symphony No. 6 has been described as the symphonic poem of Romanticism.

It is better known as the Pastoral Symphony, a work that Beethoven himself said was an expression of feeling. It was a feeling for nature, he often having preferred to compose in the countryside rather than the city.

His tribute to country life passes through waking up in the countryside to finding serenity next to a stream and then to the storm of the fourth movement before the celebration of the storm having passed.

One of the great works, it is being brought to Inca by the Mallorca Chamber Orchestra as part of a programme that will also feature 'Songs for Emma' by the contemporary Spanish composer of opera and zarzuela, Borja Mariño.
