Spanish pianist Daniel Ligorio. | Auditorium de Palma

Daniel Ligorio is one of Spain's finest concert pianists.

He has also performed with numerous leading orchestras and is arguably best known for his interpretations of works by Spanish composers Enrique Granados and Joaquín Rodrigo.

His innovations have included taking the theme of Chopin, his life and music, and blending fragments of the composer's letters into a concert programme. In a similar vein, 'Granada 1920' recalls the meeting between composer Manuel de Falla and poet Federico Garcia Lorca and so takes works by the Spanish maestro and poems by Garcia Lorca. Falla went into exile in Argentina in 1939 and never returned; Garcia Lorca was assassinated by Nationalists in August 1936.
