Born in Glasgow in 1953, his family moved to Minorca where he was five, and this was where he developed his passion for the classical guitar.

A true virtuoso, he has received numerous honours and awards, such as the Julian Bream Guitar Prize on two occasions and a Grammy Award for his 2004 album ‘Aire Latino’.

A fellow of the Royal Academy of Music in London, an honorary member of Spain’s oldest guitar society (Amigos de la Guitarra) and an inductee into the Guitar Foundation of America’s Hall of Fame, he holds a medal of honour from the Conservatory in Palma, which is where he will be performing a much anticipated concert.
