Marina Lledó is the daughter of Arturo Lledó, a leading Spanish guitarist who as well as being a regular performer is a professor at the High Performance Centre in Madrid (Centro de alto rendimiento).
He was born in Madrid but lived in Brazil for 25 years, the family having moved there when he was eleven months old. Steeped in a Brazilian and jazz tradition, this has been passed on to singer Marina, whose first album in 2015 was named best World Music album of the year by Germany's association of recording critics.
Voces Encontradas is a project she has established for bringing together Brazilian, Cuban and Spanish music within a jazz framework. A quartet, the other members are Ruiz de Gordejuela (piano), Román Filiu (wind instruments) and Reinier Elizarde (double bass).
