The Film Symphony Orchestra arrive to Palma's Auditorium. | F.S.O.
The Film Symphony Orchestra is a Spanish orchestra of eighty musicians that is exclusively dedicated to music for the cinema and related art forms.
But this is more than just an orchestra of highly professional musicians, as their performances are a show in themselves, with costumes, effects and visual projections. The orchestra, founded in 2012, is conducted by the charismatic Constantino Martínez-Orts, whose credits include having composed the music for the 2017 Goya Awards and having conducted the BBC Concert Orchestra (among others).
Last March, the orchestra was in Palma for a production ‘Henko’, a Japanese word that is hard to translate exactly but can be summed up as meaning achieving transfomative change. It is returning with ‘Tarab’, explained as being born from inspiration. Star Wars, Oppenheimer, Frozen; these are just three films whose music will be given spectacular treatment.
