Four Seasons in the spring at Palma's Auditorium

The Harmonie Ensemble is a group of professional musicians from Valencia who are members of orchestras and are also teachers at music conservatories.

There are 39 musicians in all - strings, wind, brass and percussion - and their conductor, Pascual Cabanes, is one of Spain’s top young conductors, having twice won the Caixabank orchestra competition in Valencia and worked with the Spanish National Orchestra.

Two months into spring, the ensemble will be bringing to Palma one of the most celebrated works from the Baroque period - Vivaldi’s ‘The Four Seasons’. Published in Amsterdam in 1725, they were a revolution in musical conception with their representations of, for example, singing birds, storms and even a barking dog, a feature of ‘Spring’.
