There are few more charming locations for concerts than Valldemossa’s Charterhouse and few more historical settings than the Chopin and Sand Cell.
This is the venue for the Pianino cycle of concerts, the next one in the series highlighting pianist Rafael Kyrychenko. His surname might not suggest it, but he was born in the Azores and began his piano studies in 2001 at the age of five. His first prize at an international competition was aged eight in Palma. Since then, he has taken part in numerous other competitions, taking third prize in the prestigious Maria Canals Piano Competition in Barcelona in 2021.
His programme in Valldemossa will be Bach’s Prelude and Fugue in F-sharp minor, BWV 883; Mozart’s Piano Sonata in B-flat major, K 333/315c; and Mussorgsky’s Pictures at an Exhibition.
