Concert by the trio Carles Benavent, Tino Di Geraldo, and Jorge Pardo, considered the true masters of the fusion of flamenco and jazz. | Teatre Principal
Carles Benavent taught himself jazz electric bass and became one of the most sought-after bassists by both jazz and flamenco musicians.
He can number Chick Corea, Paco de Lucía and Pat Metheny among them. Tino di Geraldo is one of Spain’s leading jazz and flamenco percussionists, whose collaborations in other genres have American folk musician Jackson Browne. Saxophonist Jorge Pardo, who has released fifteen albums since 1982, has worked with pianist Chano Domínguez among others. Twenty-four years ago, the three of them brought out a live album, El directo de Sevilla. Four years ago they followed it up with Flamenco Leaks. Three pre-eminent Spanish musicians, they are back together for a series of concerts, one of which will be for the Alternatilla Jazz Festival in Mallorca.
